The Africa-Europe Foundation Youth Awards 2025 is a flagship programme of the Africa–Europe Foundation (AEF), launched in anticipation of the Luanda 2025 Africa–Europe Summit. The Awards aim to celebrate and support youth-led projects that foster collaboration between the two continents in key areas of sustainable development.


About the Africa-Europe Foundation Youth Awards 2025

This special edition of the AEF Youth Awards is aligned with the #RoadToLuanda25 campaign. It focuses on highlighting youth-driven actions that embody the spirit of Africa–Europe cooperation. The selected awardees will not only receive financial and technical support but also gain visibility at high-level forums—including the upcoming Africa–Europe Summit in Luanda, Angola (November 2025).


What’s on Offer?

Successful applicants will benefit from the following:

  • Up to €5,000 in funding for selected youth-led initiatives.
  • Tailored capacity-building support and mentorship from the Africa–Europe Foundation and its network.
  • €10,000 Special Visibility Award for one outstanding initiative that demonstrates exceptional impact and visibility.
  • Increased visibility through official AEF communication channels, events, and storytelling platforms.
  • Showcase opportunity at the Luanda Summit, where winners will present their work to high-level stakeholders.

Who Should Apply?

The Awards are open to:

  • Youth-led organisations or platforms that are formally registered in any African Union (AU) or European Union (EU) member state.
  • Projects must be new or ongoing and actively contribute to Africa–Europe cooperation in areas such as:
    • Climate action
    • Gender equality
    • Civic engagement
    • Digital innovation
    • Peacebuilding
    • Education and skills development
    • Health and wellbeing
    • Sustainable economic development
