Are you building a startup that makes it easier for Africans to work across borders? The Job Alliance Cross Border Jobs Startup Competition 2025 is here to support innovative entrepreneurs working to improve labour mobility and create opportunities across Africa and beyond.

This competition offers funding, mentorship, and global exposure for startups that are solving real challenges in cross-border recruitment, migration services, and job placement.

About the Job Alliance Cross Border Jobs Startup Competition 2025

The Job Alliance Cross Border Jobs Startup Competition 2025 is designed to identify, support, and scale promising startups that are enabling responsible and professional labour migration. By participating, selected startups stand a chance to receive financial grants, tech support, and valuable connections through Jobtech Alliance, IOM, LaMP, and other key partners.

    📅 Application Deadline: 31 October 2025

    Prizes and Benefits

The competition offers substantial support to help startups scale their solutions:

    • Grant Funding: Each of the top three startups will receive USD $10,000 in grants to strengthen their operations and accelerate growth.
    • Tech Perks: Winners will gain access to exclusive tech perks worth up to USD $200,000, including credits, tools, and platforms through Jobtech Alliance’s partner network.
    • Mentorship & Networking: Startups will receive personalised mentorship and be introduced to a strong community of experts and peers in the jobtech ecosystem.
    • Potential Follow-On Support: High-performing startups may receive further technical or financial support to expand their impact and reach.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the competition, startups must meet the following requirements:

    • ✅ Offer solutions that enable cross-border labour mobility for Africans, whether within the continent or between Africa and other regions.
    • ✅ Be a formally registered business or entity.
    • ✅ Operate at any stage (idea, MVP, early, or growth), though some evidence of traction or early results is preferred.
    • ✅ Align with the principles of responsible and professional labour migration.

    Judging Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on three key factors:

    1. Impact Potential
      • The size, scalability, and depth of impact of the solution, especially for vulnerable populations.
    2. Business Model Viability
      • The startup’s ability to sustain operations, generate revenue, and demonstrate early traction.
    3. Innovation
      • How novel, practical, and effective the solution is in addressing labour mobility challenges.
