    Are you passionate about shaping Africa’s digital future? The August 2025 Pollicy Fellowship Application is now open, offering a unique opportunity for emerging African thinkers, technologists, creatives, and activists to co-create the future of civic technology, digital rights, and feminist data practices.

    Since 2017, the Pollicy Fellowship has supported purpose-driven individuals across the continent in building meaningful, impactful, and community-centred digital innovations. This is more than just a fellowship—it’s a platform for transformative action, collaboration, and growth.

    Introducing the August 2025 Pollicy Fellowship Tracks

    The August 2025 Pollicy Fellowship Application introduces three exciting tracks, each aligned with Pollicy’s strategic pillars and rooted in their vision for a just and joyful digital world. Applicants can choose the track that best matches their skills, passions, and regional focus.


    1. Francophone Community Engagement Fellow

    Location Focus: West and Central Africa (preferably Côte d’Ivoire)

    Role Overview:

    • Lead feminist dialogues and community-based events
    • Develop toolkits, blogs, and zines in French
    • Translate and localise key campaign materials
    • Collaborate on shaping Pollicy’s Francophone engagement strategy

    What You Bring:

    • Fluency in French and English
    • Grassroots or feminist organising experience
    • In-depth understanding of local digital challenges
    • Enthusiasm for storytelling and community-building

    2. Grants & Growth Fellow

    Role Overview:

    • Research aligned funding opportunities
    • Craft persuasive proposals and pitch decks
    • Identify potential partners across sectors
    • Support donor reporting and communication

    What You Bring:

    • Strong writing and synthesis skills
    • Passion for strategy, communications, or fundraising
    • Dedication to systemic change and equity

    3. Games Design Fellow

    Role Overview:

    • Design impactful civic games (card, web, or VR/AR)
    • Develop user journeys and interactive UX flows
    • Work alongside artists, activists, and community groups
    • Contribute to the Afrofeminist Data Museum

    What You Bring:

    • Game design skills or serious interest in the field
    • Familiarity with tools like Figma, Twine, or Unity
    • Creative energy informed by African realities
    • A playful, decolonial approach to knowledge and storytelling

    What Fellows Will Gain

    • Direct involvement in active Pollicy projects
    • Weekly learning and mentorship sessions
    • Publication opportunities for your work (toolkits, blogs, campaigns, games)
    • A final public-facing project
    • Access to a vibrant network of collaborators and alumni

    Who Should Apply?

    Pollicy welcomes applications from:

    • Students, early-career professionals, and activists
    • Technologists, creatives, and researchers
    • Individuals with experience in storytelling, design, civic tech, or policy
    • Underrepresented groups and communities
    • Residents of Africa, particularly in East, West, and Central Africa

    If you are reflective, purpose-driven, and ready to learn by doing in a feminist, supportive environment—this fellowship is designed for you.


    Fellowship Details at a Glance

    • Duration: 6 months
    • Commitment: 4 days/week (remote-first, flexible schedule)
    • Location: Primarily remote with potential in-person events
    • Stipend: USD 500/month + internet allowance
