    The Managing Global Governance Academy 2026 is a prestigious international leadership and training programme designed to strengthen global cooperation, sustainable development, and governance capacity across key regions of the world. Organised by the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), the programme brings together a diverse cohort of professionals to engage in intensive learning, dialogue, and collaborative action on global challenges.

    The Managing Global Governance Academy 2026 offers participants a unique opportunity to deepen their expertise, expand international networks, and contribute meaningfully to global governance and sustainability efforts.


    About the Managing Global Governance Academy 2026

    The Managing Global Governance (MGG) Academy is a high-level, practice-oriented training and dialogue programme focused on global governance in an interconnected world. It combines academic insight, leadership development, and action-oriented project work to equip participants with the skills needed to address complex transnational challenges.

    The academy fosters cross-regional and cross-sectoral exchange among professionals from government institutions, research organisations, civil society, and the private sector.


    Programme Location and Duration

    • Location: Bonn, Germany
    • Programme Period: 11 September – 29 November 2026
    • Programme Format: Full-time, intensive (approximately 40 hours per week)

    Participants are required to commit fully to the programme for its entire duration.

    Early preparation is strongly encouraged due to the competitive nature of the programme.


    Who Should Apply

    The Managing Global Governance Academy 2026 is open to early- to mid-career professionals who meet the following criteria:

    • Nationals or permanent residents of Brazil, China, the European Union, India, Indonesia, Mexico, or South Africa
    • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree
    • Have 3 to 15 years of relevant professional experience
    • Work in areas related to global governance, sustainable development, public policy, research, civil society, or the private sector
    • Demonstrate strong English language proficiency
    • Are able to actively participate in discussions and group work
    • Have written support from their employer
    • Are available for the full-time programme duration

    Employers are expected to grant leave for the programme period and usually cover international travel to Germany.

    In-depth exploration of global governance, international cooperation, and sustainable development topics.

    Leadership and Personal Development

    Financial Support and Benefits

    Participation in the Managing Global Governance Academy 2026 is fully funded, with support typically covering:

    • Accommodation in Germany
    • Monthly living allowance (approximately €2,200 paid in instalments)
    • Health, accident, and liability insurance
    • Local public transport pass
    • Programme-related travel within Germany and Europe

    Note: International travel to Germany is generally expected to be covered by the participant’s employer or the applicant.
