    About the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center Young Global Professionals Program

    The Atlantic Council Global Energy Center (GEC) is one of the world’s leading think tanks shaping global energy and climate discussions. The Spring 2026 Young Global Professionals Program invites passionate and forward-thinking individuals to join its Washington, DC team as part of a vibrant and intellectually stimulating environment.

    This hands-on internship provides a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience in think-tank operations—covering research, writing, event coordination, and policy engagement. Interns contribute to publications, support high-level events, and engage with experts and leaders shaping the future of energy and climate policy worldwide.


    Key Responsibilities

    Young Global Professionals at the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center will:

    • Conduct in-depth research on international energy and climate issues.
    • Assist in preparing reports, briefs, and analytical pieces for the EnergySource blog.
    • Support event planning and logistics for public and private convenings.
    • Collaborate with GEC staff and fellows on ongoing initiatives.
    • Gain professional exposure to energy policy analysis, writing, and communications.

    Eligibility and Requirements

    To be considered for the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center Spring 2026 Young Global Professionals Program, applicants must:

    • Be college juniors in good standing, graduate students, or recent graduates.
    • Have academic backgrounds in political science, international affairs, public policy, energy/environmental studies, economics, or related disciplines.
    • Demonstrate a clear interest in energy, climate, foreign policy, and international relations.
    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Show proven research and analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent time management.
    • Be authorised to work in the United States.
    • Be available full-time (40 hours per week) and work in-office at the Atlantic Council’s Washington, DC headquarters.

    Compensation and Location

    • Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour.
    • Location: Washington, DC, United States (in-office).

    This paid internship ensures that participants gain valuable professional experience while contributing meaningfully to ongoing global energy discussions.
