The Alstom Foundation 2026 Call for Projects: Funding for NGOs Advancing Sustainable Development, Energy, Mobility & Environmental Protection is now open, offering registered non-governmental organisations (NGOs) the opportunity to secure funding for impactful community-driven projects.
Through this global initiative, the Alstom Foundation supports projects that promote sustainable development and improve living conditions in communities where Alstom operates.

About the Alstom Foundation
The Alstom Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility. The Foundation funds concrete, field-based projects led by NGOs that deliver measurable social and environmental impact.
Projects must align with at least one of the Foundation’s priority areas and demonstrate strong local engagement, clear outcomes, and sustainable impact.
Funding Focus Areas
Under the Alstom Foundation 2026 Call for Projects: Funding for NGOs Advancing Sustainable Development, Energy, Mobility & Environmental Protection, proposals must address at least one of the following themes:
1. Economic & Social Development
- Vocational and technical skills training
- Youth empowerment initiatives
- Programmes supporting disadvantaged or marginalised communities
- Livelihood and income-generation projects
2. Environmental Protection
- Biodiversity conservation
- Environmental awareness and education
- Climate resilience initiatives
- Natural resource management
3. Access to Mobility
- Improving transport solutions for underserved populations
- Inclusive mobility systems
- Safe and sustainable transportation initiatives
4. Access to Energy & Water
- Community electrification projects
- Renewable energy access
- Clean water supply initiatives
- Water infrastructure and sanitation projects
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible:
- Applicants must be registered NGOs.
- The NGO must operate in a country where Alstom has a presence.
- Only one project per NGO may be submitted during this funding cycle.
- The project must include a local Alstom employee acting as a Project Promoter, based in the same country as the proposed project.
If your organisation does not already have a Project Promoter, the Foundation may help identify one — provided you request support before the stated deadline.
Key Dates for 2026
- 16 February 2026 – Online application portal opens
- 13 March 2026 – Deadline to request assistance in identifying an Alstom Project Promoter
- 10 April 2026 (11:59 PM CET) – Final submission deadline
- Mid-September 2026 – Announcement of selected projects
Applicants are encouraged to begin preparations early to secure promoter support and ensure a complete, high-quality submission.
Selection Criteria
Projects submitted under the Alstom Foundation 2026 Call for Projects will be evaluated based on:
- Alignment with one or more focus areas
- Clear and measurable impact
- Feasibility and realistic planning
- Strong local stakeholder engagement
- Compliance with Alstom’s Ethics Charter
Selected projects will receive funding and will be monitored throughout the implementation period to ensure accountability and impact delivery.
