The Black at Microsoft Scholarship Program 2026 provides financial support to students who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a clear passion for technology or business-related careers.

The scholarship is administered through an independent scholarship management platform and is open to eligible students worldwide, provided they intend to enrol in a U.S.-based four-year institution.


Scholarship Benefits

The programme awards up to 55 scholarships to successful applicants, structured as follows:

  • 5 scholarships of USD 5,000 each
    • Renewable for up to three additional years
    • Renewal is subject to:
      • Satisfactory academic performance
      • Continued full-time enrolment
      • Progress towards a bachelor’s degree
  • 50 scholarships of USD 2,500 each
    • One-time, non-renewable awards

These funds can be used to support tuition, academic expenses, and other education-related costs.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Black at Microsoft Scholarship Program 2026, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be a current high school senior
  • Plan to enrol in a four-year college or university in the United States in the academic year following graduation
  • Intend to study one of the following fields:
    • Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Information Systems
    • Business-related majors such as:
      • Business Administration
      • Finance
      • Marketing
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
  • Demonstrate:
    • Academic achievement
    • Leadership abilities
    • Community involvement
    • A clear interest in technology or business
  • International students are eligible if they will be studying at a U.S. institution
  • Children of Microsoft employees are not eligible to apply

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on a holistic review of the candidate’s profile, including:

  • Academic performance
  • Leadership experience
  • Community engagement
  • Work or extracurricular involvement
  • Career goals and alignment with the technology industry

Required Application Materials
