About the Vigdís Prize for Women’s Empowerment 2026
The Vigdís Prize for Women’s Empowerment 2026 is awarded by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in partnership with the Government of Iceland. It aims to highlight and support transformative actions that strengthen women’s empowerment and promote gender equality in diverse contexts.
The prize recognises contributions that:

Who Can Be Nominated
Eligible nominees include:

Nomination Requirements
- Each nomination must be supported by at least five sponsors
- Nominations must demonstrate clear, measurable impact on women’s empowerment

- Current members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
