The BASE Fellowship Spring 2026 provides participants with expert mentorship, structured training, and hands-on research experience aimed at strengthening leadership and representation in critical AI-related fields.


About the BASE Fellowship Spring 2026

The Black in AI Safety & Ethics (BASE) Fellowship is a 12-week, part-time research fellowship focused on building capacity and leadership among Black professionals in emerging and high-impact areas of artificial intelligence.

The fellowship is intentionally designed to:

  • Increase representation in AI safety, security, and governance
  • Provide rigorous training and mentorship
  • Support fellows to contribute meaningfully to research and policy conversations in AI

The programme is conducted entirely online, making it accessible to participants across the globe.
