About the Recruitment of Policy Leaders Program 2025-2026

The programme aims to develop a pool of qualified candidates ready for leadership opportunities within Canada’s federal public service. Successful applicants may be appointed to roles such as Senior Policy Analyst at levels EC-05 to EC-07. These positions offer competitive salaries ranging from USD 100,265 to USD 146,936 (or the equivalent in CAD).

Together, these components ensure that selected candidates are fully equipped to excel in strategic policy environments across the Government of Canada.


Eligibility Criteria

Applications are primarily open to:

  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents, whether located within or outside Canada.
  • Individuals living in Canada without citizenship or permanent residency may apply. However, preference will be given first to veterans and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

Applicants with expertise aligned with federal priority areas may receive additional consideration. These areas include:

1. General Stream

  • Open to all applicants

2. Indigenous Stream

  • For applicants who self-declare as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis
  • Deadline: 22 December 2025, 11:59 PM EST

3. Persons with Disabilities Stream

  • For applicants who self-declare as persons living with a disability
  • Deadline: 22 December 2025, 11:59 PM EST

Important Note:
Candidates should apply only once. If eligible for more than one targeted stream (e.g., both Indigenous and disability), they must apply under the Indigenous Stream.
