The IJP German-British Programme 2026-2027 offers an exciting opportunity for British and German journalists to work in each other’s countries and gain valuable professional experience in international reporting. Established in 1995, the programme strengthens mutual understanding between the United Kingdom and Germany by fostering exchange and collaboration among media professionals.

About the IJP German-British Programme 2026-2027

The German-British Programme of IJP (International Journalists’ Programmes) is designed to enable journalists from both countries to spend time working in an editorial office in the host nation. Participants report for their home media while gaining first-hand insights into the political, economic, cultural, and social life of the host country.

Since its establishment, the programme has provided a platform for young journalists to build international networks and enhance their cross-cultural reporting skills. Each year, selected fellows from Germany and the UK take part in this exchange, contributing to greater media cooperation and understanding between the two nations.

Fellowship Details

Successful applicants of the IJP German-British Programme 2026-2027 will receive a one-time fellowship payment of €3,800. This stipend is intended to cover travel expenses, accommodation, and general living costs throughout the fellowship period.
