About the MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program 2026
The MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program 2026 supports international early-career researchers by offering them the chance to conduct innovative research projects in partnership with French universities and laboratories. The initiative is aligned with France’s commitments under the Paris Agreement and focuses on advancing knowledge in climate science, environmental sustainability, and related fields.

Eligible Research Themes
Applicants’ research projects must align with one of the following five thematic areas:
- Earth System Sciences
- Climate Change Sciences and Sustainability Science
- Energy Transition
- Societal Challenges Related to Environmental Issues
- Human, Animal and Environmental Health (One Health Approach)
Projects that incorporate innovative approaches and advanced technologies are particularly encouraged.
Fellowship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial and administrative support, including:

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Must be a non-French citizen.
- Academic Qualification: Hold a doctoral degree awarded between December 2020 and December 2025 (i.e., within the last 5 years).
- Residency: Must not have resided in France for more than 90 days between 12 September 2025 and 12 December 2025.

- PhD diploma or proof of completion
- CV of the host laboratory’s scientific advisor (maximum 2 pages)
- Letter of support from the scientific advisor, co-signed by the lab director or accompanied by a commitment letter
- Up to three letters of recommendation
- Passport or ID proof
