About the Taiwan Program Visiting Fellowship 2026–2027

The fellowship is designed to support scholars whose work focuses on contemporary Taiwan and its ability to navigate future challenges and opportunities. Fellows will explore issues across economics, society, technology, environment, and institutions.

Hosted at Stanford University’s APARC, fellows will collaborate closely with APARC faculty and researchers, as well as engage with Stanford students, faculty, and broader academic networks. Fellows may also work with scholars through the Stanford Next Asia Policy Lab (SNAPL).


Fellowship Benefits

  • Duration: One academic year, beginning Autumn Quarter 2026.
  • Residency Requirement: Fellows must be in residence at Stanford for the entire term, participating in APARC events and collaborating with faculty and peers.
  • Research Facilities: Full access to Stanford’s outstanding research facilities.
  • Academic Opportunities: Fellows may audit relevant Stanford classes (with instructor permission, free of charge) and participate in APARC and Freeman Spogli Institute events.
