About the Internship
The Vector Institute Applied Internship Program 2026 is designed to give eligible students the chance to apply their academic knowledge in real-world professional settings. Interns will engage in impactful projects, collaborate with experts, and develop technical and professional skills over the course of the programme.
- Compensation: CAD $25 per hour
- Duration: 16 to 32 weeks
- Schedule: Full-time or part-time
- Intakes: Fall, Winter, and Summer terms
Internship Roles Available
Successful applicants will be matched to one of the following roles, based on their skills and career goals:
- Applied Machine Learning Intern – Support the development of software and scalable solutions for real-world AI applications.
- Applied AI Program Design and Delivery Intern – Assist in developing and scaling AI education projects.
- Marketing & CRM Operations Intern – Contribute to data-driven marketing, analytics, and customer relationship management.
- Data Analytics Intern – Manage, analyse, and present data to generate actionable insights.
- Program Development & Stakeholder Outreach Intern – Support researcher growth initiatives, stakeholder relations, and grant-making.
- Event Technologist Intern – Enhance event technology platforms, optimise registration processes, and improve audience engagement.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:
- Identity: Self-identify as Black or Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) in Canada.
- Education: Be a student or recent graduate of a Canadian university or college.
- Academic Standing: Currently in second year or higher.
- Field of Study: Enrolled in a STEM programme (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, etc.), or related fields such as Business, Economics, or Life Sciences.
- Other: Must meet role-specific requirements outlined in the internship descriptions.
