The 8th BRICS Young Innovator Prize 2025 is now open for applications, offering a prestigious platform to showcase your AI-driven innovation, compete internationally, and win substantial funding for your work.

Hosted as part of the 10th BRICS Young Scientist Forum, this year’s edition will take place from 15–17 September 2025 in Brasília, Brazil. The competition brings together the brightest young minds from BRICS member countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and Indonesia—to promote science, technology, and innovation that improve lives across member nations.


What is the BRICS Young Innovator Prize?

The 8th BRICS Young Innovator Prize 2025 recognises and supports exceptional young innovators whose work demonstrates tangible potential to solve public service issues using Artificial Intelligence. It’s a premier platform for elevating early-stage solutions that can be scaled or adopted to enhance health, education, public infrastructure, and governance services.


Prize Theme: AI for Public Service Solutions

The 2025 theme, “Artificial Intelligence for Public Service Solutions”, encourages applications from innovators working on early-stage or pre-market AI technologies aimed at strengthening public systems. Eligible projects might focus on public healthcare, administrative automation, education access, smart cities, climate response, or social services.


Prizes to Be Won

Winners will receive:

  • 🥇 First Prize – USD 25,000
  • 🥈 Second Prize – USD 15,000
  • 🥉 Third Prize – USD 10,000

Prizes will be awarded after verification and evaluation by the BRICS jury and processed via international bank transfer (SWIFT/IBAN), according to Brazilian regulations.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the 8th BRICS Young Innovator Prize 2025, applicants must:

  • Be under 40 years old as of 31 December 2025.
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of a BRICS member state (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, or Indonesia).
  • Be the original creator of the innovation.
  • Submit only one entry.
  • Present a non-commercial innovation not developed as part of their current employment or company project.
  • Submit all materials in English.

Required Submission Materials

Applications must include:

  • A completed and signed application form
  • A short biography/CV and a photo (at least 250×300 pixels)
  • A nomination statement (maximum 300 words)
  • A concise project description (maximum 300 words)
  • Any supporting materials: research documents, photos, illustrations, videos, or presentations

Note: Once submitted, entries cannot be edited.
