Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the African Union Media Fellowship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a citizen of any African Union member state
- Minimum age of 25
- Have at least six years of professional experience in journalism or media-related fields (excluding internships and academic work)
- Be an active journalist, blogger, podcaster, vlogger, or digital content creator
- Possess newsroom or editorial experience with a portfolio that shows evidence of innovation and impact
- Fluent in one of the African Union’s official languages, with working proficiency in English (the primary language of the fellowship)
Thematic Areas of Focus
Applicants must propose stories or content ideas aligned with at least one of the following six thematic tracks derived from Agenda 2063:
