About the GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize 2026

The GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize 2026 marks the tenth edition of the world’s most renowned teaching award. Launched on 1 July 2025, the prize honours one exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession, showing innovation, leadership, and community impact.

The winner will be announced at the World Governments Summit in Dubai in February 2026.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be currently working as a classroom teacher instructing children aged 5 to 18, or teaching children aged 4+ in a recognised Early Years curriculum.
  • Teach at least 10 hours per week in a face-to-face setting (part-time teachers are welcome).
  • Plan to remain in the profession for the next five years.
  • Online course instructors are eligible if they meet the face-to-face requirement.
