AFR100 Land Accelerator Africa Project 2025

    dEADLINE: October 30, 2025

Are you an entrepreneur working to restore degraded forests and farmland in Africa? The AFR100 Land Accelerator Africa Project 2025 is now accepting applications for its next cohort. This accelerator programme offers mentorship, technical training, networking opportunities, and innovation grants to support impactful land restoration initiatives across the continent.

About the AFR100 Land Accelerator Africa Project 2025

The AFR100 Land Accelerator Africa Project 2025 is a dynamic initiative under the AFR100 movement, supported by AUDA-NEPAD, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and Fledge. Its primary goal is to accelerate the growth of early-stage entrepreneurs restoring degraded land, while building sustainable businesses that support communities and the environment.

The programme is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge, mentorship, and financial support needed to scale their restoration projects. Participants will benefit from both virtual and in-person learning sessions, alongside a unique opportunity to connect with investors and development partners.

    Programme Structure

The accelerator runs in two structured phases, ensuring a balance of training, mentorship, and practical application:

    1. Phase One – Virtual Training & Mentorship (3 months)
      • Weekly online training sessions covering technical and business skills.
      • Integrated mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and sector experts.
      • Completion of strategic deliverables designed to strengthen business models.
    2. Phase Two – Intensive In-Person Workshop & Impact Day
      • A week-long in-person bootcamp bringing together entrepreneurs, mentors, and partners.
      • Culminates in an Impact Day, where participants pitch their projects to a live audience of investors, policymakers, and restoration stakeholders.

This structure ensures participants not only gain knowledge but also position themselves to secure future funding and partnerships.

    Funding and Support

Selected participants will receive financial and technical support to strengthen their impact:

    • USD $5,000 innovation grant for each of the Top 100 land restoration entrepreneurs or enterprises.
    • Backed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and AUDA-NEPAD.
    • Priority is given to women and youth entrepreneurs, aligning with the programme’s vision of inclusive and sustainable development.

In addition to funding, grantees will receive business development support, increased visibility, and opportunities to join a strong restoration network across Africa.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the AFR100 Land Accelerator Africa Project 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Be entrepreneurs working to restore degraded forests and farmland.
    • Be based in Africa, with a business model or initiative focused on environmental restoration.
    • Have a clear and measurable impact in land restoration, whether through afforestation, sustainable agriculture, soil regeneration, or related fields.
    • Be committed to participating in the full programme, including virtual sessions and the in-person workshop.

    Key Dates

    • Application Deadline: 30 October 2025

Applicants are encouraged to prepare all necessary supporting documentation early to ensure a smooth submission process.

    Tips for a Strong Application

With 100 grants available, competition will be keen. To increase your chances of selection:

    • Present a clear, well-defined restoration project with measurable impact.
    • Demonstrate evidence of groundwork or pilot activities.
    • Highlight your commitment to the restoration agenda and how the accelerator will help you scale.
    • If you are a youth or woman entrepreneur, emphasise this, as the programme prioritises these groups.
    • Ensure you can commit fully to the training and mentorship phases, including travel for the in-person workshop.

    Why You Should Apply

This accelerator is not just about funding. It’s a transformative opportunity to gain skills, build strategic connections, and become part of a growing network of restoration entrepreneurs shaping Africa’s environmental future.
