    Alan Hagman Photojournalism Grant 2025

    About the Alan Hagman Photojournalism Grant 2025

    The Alan Hagman Photojournalism Grant 2025 is awarded by the National Press Photographers Foundation (NPPF) to support a project of consequence. The recipient will receive:

    • USD 6,000 grant to carry out their project.
    • Guidance from an assigned NPPF coordinator, who will check in during the course of the project.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply for this grant, applicants must meet the following conditions:

    • Be a professional photojournalist.
    • Be a current U.S. resident.
    • Staff photographers are eligible, but they must arrange time off with their employers to complete the project.

    Application Requirements

    Interested applicants must submit a comprehensive application package including the following:

    1. Personal Information – Full name, date of birth, address, email, and phone number.
    2. Biography – A short bio highlighting professional achievements and commitment to photojournalism.
    3. Curriculum Vitae (CV) – With details of your experience.
    4. References – 2 to 3 professional references, including names, emails, and phone numbers.
    5. Project Title and Summary – Not exceeding 2,500 characters.
    6. Project Proposal – Up to 4,000 characters, including:
      • A detailed description of the project.
      • Timeline for execution.
      • How the grant funds will be used.
    7. Body of Work –
      • For still photography: Up to 24 images.
      • For video applications: 2 to 3 videos, each no longer than 10 minutes.

    Timeline and Deadline

    • Application Deadline: October 10, 2025

    Applicants are encouraged to prepare their materials carefully and submit well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
