    Society for Psychophysiological Research Video Competition 2026

    The Society for Psychophysiological Research Video Competition 2026 is now open for submissions. This exciting global contest invites scientists, students, and communicators to creatively explain aspects of psychophysiological research in a way that is engaging and accessible to a general audience. Whether you are an individual or part of a team, this competition offers a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity, scientific knowledge, and communication skills.


    About the Competition

    The Society for Psychophysiological Research Video Competition 2026 aims to promote wider understanding of psychophysiological research by encouraging participants to share their knowledge through short, captivating videos. The contest is open to everyone, not only SPR members, making it a truly inclusive platform.

    Participants are asked to create short videos explaining a specific aspect of psychophysiology in terms that non-scientists can easily understand.


    Eligibility

    • Open to everyone worldwide.
    • Both individuals and teams may apply.
    • Teams must clearly state all contributors and their roles in the submission form.

    Video Requirements

    • Length: Maximum 90 seconds.
    • Format: .mp4 file.
    • Content: Must explain an element of psychophysiological research in a way that a lay audience can understand.
    • Suggested topics include:
      • What happens to your body under stress.
      • How skin conductance reflects arousal.
      • How pupil dilation relates to emotional states.
      • What your smartwatch “knows” about stress.

    Judging Criteria

    Entries will be evaluated based on:

    • Ability to capture and maintain the viewer’s interest.
    • Accuracy of the scientific content.
    • Accessibility of explanations for non-scientists.
    • Relevance of the topic to psychophysiology.

    Prizes

    Winners of the Society for Psychophysiological Research Video Competition 2026 will receive:

    • 1st Prize: US $1,000
    • 2nd Prize: US $500
    • 3rd Prize: US $200

    Awards will be officially announced during the SPR Annual Business Luncheon, on social media, and on the SPR website.


    Application Process

    • Complete the official submission form.
    • Upload your video in the required .mp4 format.
    • Ensure all team member details (if applicable) are included.
    • Deadline for submission: October 1, 2025.
