Researchers Without Borders (REWiB) Training 2025

    Deadline: September 30, 2025

Are you a young African woman passionate about peace, justice, and accountability? Applications are now open for the Researchers Without Borders (REWiB) Training 2025, a unique capacity-building opportunity designed to equip young women with essential skills to advance the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda across Africa.

This transformative training will bring together selected participants for an intensive in-person workshop and continued mentorship, empowering them to become active contributors to peace and security in their communities.

    About the REWiB Training 2025

The REWiB Training 2025 is a five-day in-person programme taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in November 2025, followed by virtual sessions for sustained learning and engagement.

The training is organised by Researchers Without Borders (REWiB) in partnership with the African Union Gender Peace & Security Programme. Its core mission is to strengthen young African women’s capacity in monitoring, documenting, and reporting on the implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda.

    Benefits for Participants

    Selected participants will:

    • Take part in the 5-day in-person training in Addis Ababa and follow-up online learning sessions.
    • Design and implement a local monitoring activity focusing on WPS implementation in their own communities.
    • Produce a short monitoring report or narrative brief that captures their findings and contributes to broader advocacy and policy work.

This hands-on approach ensures that participants not only gain knowledge but also apply it directly within their contexts.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The programme is open to:

    • Young African women with a strong interest or passion for peace, justice, and accountability.
    • Individuals who may or may not have prior technical expertise, as the main criteria are motivation and commitment to advancing the Women, Peace, and Security agenda.

    Application Process

Applicants are required to submit the following:

    1. A personal statement (maximum 500 words) outlining why they are interested in joining the REWiB Training 2025.
    2. A CV or resume (not exceeding 2 pages).

Applications should be submitted via email to: info@rewib.org

Deadline: All applications must be received by 30 September 2025.

    Key Dates

    • Application Deadline: 30 September 2025
    • Training Dates: November 2025 (5 days, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)

    Conclusion

The Researchers Without Borders (REWiB) Training 2025 is an invaluable opportunity for young African women to build the skills, networks, and experience needed to contribute meaningfully to peace and security efforts in Africa. By participating, you will not only gain training but also actively create impact within your community.
