    Tech Policy Press Remote Fellowship Program 2026

    The Tech Policy Press Remote Fellowship Program 2026 is now open for applications! This prestigious year-long, part-time fellowship is designed for journalists, researchers, academics, policy professionals, and lawyers who are passionate about exploring the intersection of technology and democracy. Selected fellows will receive a USD $10,000 stipend and have the opportunity to contribute meaningful work to a global community.


    About the Fellowship

    The Tech Policy Press Fellowship Program 2026 is hosted by Tech Policy Press, a nonprofit media and community platform dedicated to technology and democratic governance.

    The fellowship runs from January to December 2026, and fellows will engage in independent research, analysis, and reporting on issues that shape public discourse around technology policy.

    Fellows will also benefit from:

    • Editorial support and mentorship
    • Peer collaboration with an international cohort
    • A platform to publish across multiple formats, including articles, newsletters, and podcasts
    • Visibility through events and special projects

    Fellowship Benefits

    • Stipend: USD $10,000 (disbursed quarterly)
    • Editorial guidance: Ongoing mentorship and support from Tech Policy Press editors

    Key Fellowship Expectations

    Selected fellows will be required to:

    • Meet all editorial deadlines
    • Disclose any conflicts of interest

    Eligibility Criteria

    The fellowship is open to applicants worldwide, with a strong emphasis on candidates from the Global Majority and underrepresented communities in media.

    Applicants must demonstrate:

    • A strong background in technology policy, democracy, digital rights, or AI governance
    • Prior experience publishing journalism, research, or policy analysis (academic assignments and dissertations are not accepted)
    • Commitment to producing high-quality, public-interest content

    Application Requirements

    Applicants must submit the following:

    1. CV or résumé
    2. Cover letter (maximum 2 pages) explaining:
      • Proposed focus during the fellowship
      • Relevant qualifications
      • Potential impact of their work
    3. Links to prior published work (articles, research, or policy papers)

    Application Deadline

    All applications must be submitted by:
    October 15, 2025 (11:59 p.m. EDT).

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview in early December 2025.

    To guide applicants through the process, Tech Policy Press is hosting two virtual info sessions via Zoom:

    • September 9, 2025 — 9:00 a.m. EDT
    • September 16, 2025 — 7:00 p.m. EDT

    Applicants are encouraged to register and attend.
