NTEN Nonprofit Cybersecurity Readiness Program 2025

    Deadline: August 26, 2025

Cybersecurity remains one of the most pressing yet underdeveloped areas for many nonprofits worldwide. To address this critical challenge, the NTEN Nonprofit Cybersecurity Readiness Program 2025 has opened applications for its next cohort. This fully funded initiative is designed to equip nonprofit organisations with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to safeguard sensitive data, build resilience, and improve digital security practices.

About the NTEN Nonprofit Cybersecurity Readiness Program 2025

The NTEN Nonprofit Cybersecurity Readiness Program is a three-month, fully funded capacity-building initiative that helps nonprofit professionals improve their organisations’ security posture. With only 20 organisations selected per cohort, the programme offers tailored guidance, practical assessments, and expert-led learning in a small, supportive environment.

    What Participants Will Gain

The NTEN Nonprofit Cybersecurity Readiness Program 2025 is designed to provide comprehensive and practical benefits for participants:

    1. Customised Security Assessment

Organisations will work with expert advisors to identify risks ranging from phishing vulnerabilities to data breaches.

    2. Structured Curriculum

A three-month learning programme, delivered through the NTEN Training Center, is tailored specifically to nonprofit needs.

    3. Actionable Security Plan

Participants will develop a clear and custom security plan with hands-on guidance during planning and implementation stages.

    4. Professional Certification Option

There is an opportunity to pursue an NTEN professional certificate as part of the training pathway.

    5. Peer Networking

Virtual live events allow participants to connect with other nonprofit professionals who are tackling similar cybersecurity challenges.

    Why the Programme Matters

Research from NTEN shows that cybersecurity is consistently one of the weakest technology areas for nonprofits. This puts sensitive data, service delivery, and stakeholder trust at risk. The programme builds on NTEN’s highly successful Nonprofit Tech Readiness work, which has supported over 1,500 organisations since 2010 and boasts a 98% Net Promoter Score.

By participating, nonprofit staff will not only improve their technical knowledge but also gain confidence and capacity to implement sustainable cybersecurity practices.

    Who Can Apply

The programme is open to nonprofit professionals worldwide who are actively engaged in advancing or implementing cybersecurity, privacy, or digital protection initiatives within their organisations.

Please note: Board members and volunteers are not eligible to apply.

    Application Information

Applications are currently open and must be submitted before the deadline of 26 August 2025. With only 20 organisations accepted per cohort, early application is strongly encouraged.

    Final Thoughts

The NTEN Nonprofit Cybersecurity Readiness Program 2025 is a unique and fully funded opportunity for nonprofits to strengthen their cybersecurity framework, protect their digital assets, and build long-term resilience. For nonprofits working in sensitive sectors—such as human rights, healthcare, or community development—this programme is a timely investment in sustainability and trust.
