    The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) provides these seed grants to help media outlets produce high-quality content focused on natural resource management and green growth. By supporting new programming ideas, the initiative encourages journalists and media organisations to explore innovative storytelling approaches while addressing pressing environmental challenges.

    Grant Details

    • Grant Amount: €4,500 per media outlet
    • Number of Grants: 6
    • Project Duration: 6 months (projects should be completed by the end of February 2026)
    • Support Provided: Selected media outlets will receive mentorship from senior journalists and subject-matter experts to strengthen the quality and impact of their stories

    These grants are ideal for media outlets that want to expand their coverage of environmental issues and contribute to public awareness on sustainability and resource management.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To be eligible for the EJN Seed Grants for Media Outlets Nepal 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Open to media outlets in Nepal, including newspapers, online media, radio, television, multimedia platforms, and social media channels
    • Applicants must propose one new media programming idea focusing on natural resource management and green growth
    • Proposals should include the production of at least two episodes or stories
    • Applications can be submitted in English or Nepali
    • Previous grantees from the first round are not eligible

    These criteria ensure that the grants reach a diverse range of media organisations capable of producing impactful environmental content.
