    • Postdoctoral researchers: Doctorate completed within the last 4 years

    Fellowship Timeline

    • Fellowship start window: March 2026 to May 2027

    Funding and Benefits

    Postdoctoral Researchers

    • Monthly stipend: €2,600
    • Mobility allowance: €100/month

    Experienced Researchers

    • Monthly stipend: €3,100
    • Mobility allowance: €100/month
    • Duration: 6–18 months (can also be split)

    • Intensive German language course (optional)
    • Research subsidy of €800/month paid directly to the host institution

    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify, applicants must:

    • Be Brazilian citizens or permanent residents (or German nationals living in Brazil for at least 5 years)
    • Hold a doctoral degree:
      • Postdocs: PhD completed within the last 4 years
      • Experienced researchers: PhD completed within the last 12 years
    • Have strong academic publications and a well-developed independent research proposal
    • Secure a formal invitation from a German academic host
    • Provide two expert reviews on academic qualifications

    Required Application Documents

    Applicants will need to submit:

    • A max. 2-page CV
    • 5-page research proposal (plus references)
    • Doctoral certificate
    • Full publication list and selected key publications
    • Language certificate (if required)
    • Host’s signed declaration and confirmation of facilities
    • Two academic reference letters
