    Deadline: September 30, 2025

Are you a community organiser, activist, or educator championing feminist and racial justice? The FCRJ Activist‑in‑Residence Programme 2025–26 offers a unique opportunity to develop and showcase your work through a fully remote, funded fellowship. Hosted by the Feminist Centre for Racial Justice (FCRJ) at SOAS University of London, this 6-month residency empowers change-makers globally—especially from the African continent—to deliver tangible, public-facing projects that benefit their communities.

In this blog post, you’ll find everything you need to know to apply for the FCRJ Activist‑in‑Residence Programme 2025–26.

    About the FCRJ Activist‑in‑Residence Programme

The Feminist Centre for Racial Justice (FCRJ) is offering two fully funded fellowships under the Activist‑in‑Residence (AiR) Programme for 2025–26. This remote fellowship spans six months, beginning in November 2025, and is open to individuals or teams working on grassroots, community-driven initiatives rooted in feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial activism.

Each fellow will receive £3,000 to support their work and develop a project with real-world community impact.

    Who Should Apply?

    The programme welcomes:

    • Community organisers and educators
    • Non-academic activists
    • Individuals or teams with a strong track record in feminist and racial justice advocacy

Applicants from Africa are strongly encouraged to apply, although the programme is open globally. Team applications are welcome (only one fellowship per team).

    Project Scope and Expectations

    Selected fellows will:

    • Design and implement a public-facing output, such as:
      • Short films

      • Exhibitions
      • Policy briefs
    • Collaborate with FCRJ to host a public showcase of their work
    • Deliver a project that demonstrates both impact and feasibility within the 6-month timeframe
    • Work remotely in close communication with FCRJ staff

Projects must centre the fellow’s community and reflect themes such as:

    • Feminist and anti-racist resistance
    • Decolonial approaches to governance and knowledge
    • Youth activism and indigenous methodologies
