    Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellowship Program 2025

    Are you a young Canadian professional or graduate student passionate about Canada-Asia relations? The Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellowship Program 2025 is an exceptional opportunity to deepen your expertise, build international networks, and contribute to critical conversations on Asia-Pacific affairs — all through a fully funded, prestigious fellowship.

    Organised by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada), this nine-month non-resident fellowship is designed to empower Canada’s next generation of thought leaders on Asia. Up to 20 outstanding individuals aged 22–30 will be selected to participate in virtual learning sessions, engage with global experts, and attend an in-person retreat in Vancouver — all at no cost to the fellow.


    About the Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellowship Program 2025

    The Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellowship Program 2025 is a flagship initiative by APF Canada aimed at nurturing future leaders in Canada-Asia engagement. The fellowship runs from mid-September 2025 to June 2026, blending monthly virtual programming with a two-day, fully funded retreat in Vancouver in early May 2026.

    Participants will join a diverse and dynamic cohort of peers across Canada to explore key policy issues, develop strong communication skills, and engage directly with experts and professionals working on Asia-Pacific relations.


    Key Features and Benefits

    • Fully funded participation including travel and accommodation for the Vancouver retreat
    • Access to expert-led discussions, Q&A sessions, and skills workshops
    • Monthly virtual sessions (60 minutes, once or twice monthly)
    • Deep-dive conversations on contemporary issues in Asia and Canada-Asia relations
    • Enhanced skills in oral and written communication
    • Connection to a growing national network of Asia-engaged professionals

    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply, applicants must:

    • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
    • Be aged 22 to 30 as of approximately September 16, 2025
    • Have completed (or be completing) a degree in political science, international relations, business, economics, Asian Studies, or a related field
    • Demonstrate a strong and proven interest in contemporary Asia and Canada-Asia engagement (via academics, work, volunteerism, or lived experience)
    • Commit to attending the virtual sessions and the in-person retreat in Vancouver

    Interested candidates must submit:

    1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    2. Educational transcripts (official or unofficial accepted)
    3. Two-page cover letter, structured as:
      • Page 1: A personal introduction and how the program aligns with your goals
      • Page 2: Brief analysis of one recent/current issue in Asia, and two other topics you’d like to explore through the fellowship — along with guiding questions
    4. Contact details for two references (academic or professional)
