About the GLF/YIL Restoration Stewards Program 2026 (€5,000 Grant)
The GLF/YIL Restoration Stewards Program 2026 (€5,000 grant) is an initiative of the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL), launched in 2020. The programme is designed to support youth aged 18 to 35 who are actively engaged in restoration projects within diverse ecosystems such as forests, mountains, wetlands, oceans, peatlands, drylands, and rangelands.
Through this annual programme, selected stewards receive a comprehensive support package including a €5,000 grant, personalised mentorship, training opportunities, and international visibility for their work.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Lead or be part of a youth-led initiative actively working on restoration in a local landscape.
- Have an ongoing project running for at least six months.
- Belong to, or work with, underrepresented groups such as Indigenous peoples, women, or rural communities.
- Have at least one team member proficient in English.
Priority is given to youth from the Global South, including Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Application Requirements
Applicants must provide:
- A 200-word personal narrative detailing your restoration experience.
- A 1-minute video (shared via unlisted link or social media) explaining your motivation to become a Restoration Steward.
- Project information including:
- Project name
- Landscape description (200 words)
- Objectives and activities (400 words)
- Vision for the project post-programme (200 words)
- A detailed budget breakdown (in PDF or Word) showing how the €5,000 grant will be used.
- At least one photo of the project site.
Deadline for Submission
All applications must be submitted by Sunday, 13 July 2025, at 23:59 CEST (UTC+2). Late submissions will not be considered.
