    curaJOY Summer Impact Fellowship 2025

The curaJOY Summer Impact Fellowship 2025 offers a unique, paid opportunity to contribute to global youth mental wellness, AI safety, and digital empowerment—while gaining hands-on experience, building an open-source portfolio, and joining a growing network of changemakers.

    About curaJOY Summer Impact Fellowship 2025

    curaJOY is a global nonprofit using technology and storytelling to support children’s emotional resilience and family bonding. The Summer Impact Fellowship is their flagship 7-week program that immerses selected students in AI development, behavioral health research, and social impact projects. The 2025 cohort will bring together 12 fellows to work on two dynamic tracks: Tech and Research.

    Stipend: $1,250 per fellow
    Duration: 7 weeks (Summer 2025)
    Application Deadline: June 24, 2025
    Fellowship Size: 12 students total


    Two Fellowship Tracks

    Applicants can apply for one of the two specialized tracks:

    1. Tech Cohort

    Ideal for students with programming backgrounds. Fellows will:

    • Build an AI Safety Dashboard using React, Node.js, and AWS to monitor and respond to harmful content (e.g., cyberbullying, self-harm).
    • Design an AI Coach that prompts users with resources and affirmations in response to low-risk harmful signals.
    • Deliver open-source tools and host a live demonstration at the end of the program.

    2. Research Cohort

    Tailored for students with strengths in communication, writing, and outreach. Fellows will:

    • Co-create the Tapestry of Emotions Dataset by labeling 15,000+ social media posts and ensuring quality assurance.
    • Design and run an Impact Mini-Campaign (including infographics, Instagram content, and youth surveys).
    • Deliver a published dataset and an impact snapshot for public use.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for the curaJOY Summer Impact Fellowship 2025, applicants must be:

    • A current high school junior or senior, OR a current college student
    • Able to commit full-time for the entire 7-week duration
    • Tech Cohort: Should demonstrate strong programming and coding experience
    • Research Cohort: Should show proficiency in writing, social media, or outreach work
