    Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship 2026/2027

    The Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship 2026/2027 is now open for applications. This fully funded scholarship supports outstanding African students to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees at the prestigious SOAS University of London.

    Funded by Hyundai Motor Group, this scholarship programme aims to nurture future African leaders who are committed to sustainable development, inclusive growth, and transformative impact across the continent.

    About the Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship 2026/2027

    The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support for eligible African students enrolling in full-time postgraduate programmes for the 2026/27 academic year at SOAS University of London.

    The initiative is designed to:

    • Strengthen academic excellence among African scholars
    • Promote sustainable development leadership
    • Foster long-term collaboration between Africa and global institutions

    Eligible Programmes

    Applicants may apply for:

    Master’s Degree

    • Any full-time, one-year Master’s programme at SOAS

    Research Degree (MPhil/PhD)

    • Any full-time MPhil/PhD programme

    Please note:

    • Part-time programmes are not eligible
    • Two-year Master’s programmes are not eligible

    While all eligible programmes are considered, courses in the following areas are particularly encouraged:

    • Development Studies
    • Economics and Finance
    • Law
    • Anthropology
    • Politics

    Scholarship Benefits

    The Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship 2026/2027 is fully funded and provides generous financial support as outlined below:

    For Master’s Students

    • Full tuition fee coverage
    • Total award value of £27,730
    • Living cost support (remaining amount after tuition is covered contributes towards maintenance)

    For PhD Students

    • Full tuition fees for three years of study
    • Tuition coverage for the writing-up (final) year
    • Annual living stipend of approximately £22,780 (2026/27 rate)
    • Stipend paid in instalments

    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for the Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship 2026/2027, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    Nationality & Residency

    • Must be African nationals
    • Must be ordinarily resident in Africa
    • Must be classified as international fee-paying students

    Academic Requirements

    For Master’s Applicants:

    • Must hold (or expect to hold) a degree equivalent to a UK First-Class Honours degree

    For PhD Applicants:

    • Must hold (or expect to hold) a Master’s degree with Distinction, equivalent to UK standards

    Applicants with slightly lower results (e.g., UK 2:1 equivalent) may still apply but will not be prioritised.

    English Language Requirement

    If your admission offer is conditional upon English language proficiency, you must meet the university’s English language requirement.

    Programme Application Requirement

    You must submit your application to your chosen SOAS postgraduate programme before the scholarship deadline.

    You do not need to have received an offer of admission before applying for the scholarship, but you must have applied for the programme.

    ⏰ 12:00 noon (UK time)

    Late applications will not be considered.
