Organised by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC), the International Green Gown Awards 2026 are delivered in partnership with leading global organisations including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Association of Universities (IAU), the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI), and Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS).

Applications are open to all tertiary education institutions outside the UK, Ireland, and Australasia. This includes:
- Universities and colleges
- Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions

- Research and technical institutes
- Learning and skills organisations
There is no limit to the number of entries an institution can submit or the number of categories they can enter. This inclusive approach ensures a broad representation of innovative sustainability practices from around the world.

Application Process

- Final Submission: Shortlisted institutions provide additional information and supporting materials for the final round of judging. Winners will be announced during the week beginning 7 September 2026.
