    The Connect NextGen Hackathon 2026 is a transformative national innovation initiative aimed at supporting and accelerating early-stage Nigerian technology startups that are tackling Africa’s most pressing challenges. Powered by Ericsson in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria and Tech Revolution Africa, the programme seeks to foster groundbreaking innovation in critical technology sectors while providing startups with the tools, mentorship, and funding opportunities needed to scale their solutions.


    Overview of the Connect NextGen Hackathon 2026

    The Connect NextGen Hackathon 2026 is designed to discover, empower, and elevate Nigeria’s most promising tech entrepreneurs. It provides a dynamic platform for startups to develop solutions that address social, economic, and environmental issues through innovation and technology.

    This 2026 edition continues the mission to accelerate digital transformation in Nigeria, nurturing startups that are ready to revolutionise industries and create sustainable impact.

    The hackathon focuses on multiple innovation domains shaping the continent’s future, including:

    • Telecommunications and Connectivity
    • FinTech – Financial inclusion, digital payment systems, and modern banking solutions
    • HealthTech – Enhancing healthcare accessibility through digital tools and platforms
    • AgriTech – Modernising agriculture and food systems with technology
    • EdTech – Revolutionising education through digital learning solutions
    • Internet of Things (IoT) – Smart systems improving productivity and efficiency
