Organised by the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF), this prestigious programme is designed to equip high-potential Nigerian undergraduates with the leadership, professional, and career skills required to successfully transition from university into the workforce.

    The NHEF Scholars Program 2026 combines mentorship, internships, leadership development, and professional networking, creating a holistic experience for selected scholars across Nigeria.

    The NHEF Scholars Program 2026 is a competitive, career-building initiative targeted at talented Nigerian undergraduates in their penultimate year of study. The programme focuses on developing future leaders by exposing them to real-world work experiences, structured mentorship, and intensive professional development.

    Early application is strongly encouraged, as late submissions will not be considered.


    Eligibility Criteria

    To be eligible for the NHEF Scholars Program 2026, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

    • Be a penultimate-year undergraduate student (about to enter final year)
    • Be enrolled at one of the NHEF partner universities, listed below:
      • Ahmadu Bello University
      • Bayero University
      • University of Ibadan
      • University of Lagos
      • University of Nigeria
      • University of Port Harcourt
    • Demonstrate strong academic performance
    • Show active participation in extracurricular activities
    • Exhibit a clear commitment to community service and social impact
