The Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service 2026–2028 is a prestigious two-year leadership and public service scholarship programme established by President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and Brian Chesky, Co-Founder and CEO of Airbnb.

Designed to empower and support young leaders in the United States, the scholarship provides financial aid, travel opportunities, and leadership development to undergraduate students committed to making a positive difference through public service.

    About the Scholarship

The Voyager Scholarship was created to help shape the next generation of public service leaders by providing students with the resources and experiences needed to pursue their passions. It combines financial assistance, global travel, and leadership training to prepare scholars for a lifetime of impact in their communities and beyond.

    Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants receive up to $50,000 in total financial support and other benefits, including:

    • Summer Voyage:
      • A $10,000 stipend for a summer work, research, volunteering, or service experience between junior and senior years.
      • Free Airbnb accommodation (valued at approximately $4,200) during the Summer Voyage.
    • 10-Year Travel Stipend: After graduation, recipients receive $2,000 in Airbnb travel credit annually for 10 years (a total of $20,000) to support continued learning, cultural exchange, and networking.
    • Leadership and Networking Opportunities: Scholars gain access to an exclusive speaker series, mentorship sessions, leadership development opportunities, and a growing alumni network dedicated to public service.
