    About the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy 2026

    The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy is a 12-month immersive training initiative established to nurture African talent in film and television. The programme blends structured classroom learning with hands-on production experience, allowing participants to work on real industry projects.

    Through this programme, selected candidates gain professional skills, industry knowledge, and practical experience required to compete successfully in the global creative economy.


    Programme Duration and Structure

    • Duration: 12 months (full-time)
    • Training Format:
      • Classroom-based theoretical instruction
      • Practical, hands-on production projects
      • Mentorship by industry experts
      • Collaborative storytelling and production work

    Participants will actively engage in the complete filmmaking process, from concept development to post-production.


    Training Locations (MTF Regional Academies)

    The programme is delivered through regional academies across Africa:

    • West Africa Academy – Lagos, Nigeria
    • East Africa Academy – Nairobi, Kenya
    • Southern Africa Academy – Lusaka, Zambia
    • South Africa Academy – Johannesburg, South Africa

    Applicants are usually expected to apply to the academy serving their region.

    Participants of the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy 2026 will receive training in:

    • Scriptwriting and storytelling
    • Film and television directing
    • Cinematography
    • Production management
    • Editing and post-production
    • Sound design and technical production
