ICTC Digital Youth Ambassadors Program 2026

    Deadline: Unspecified

The ICTC Digital Youth Ambassadors Program 2026 is an exciting opportunity for young leaders in Canada to help shape the future of the country’s digital economy. Organised by the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC), this year-long initiative empowers youth to share their perspectives, contribute to national research, and influence digital workforce development strategies across Canada.

About the ICTC Digital Youth Ambassadors Program 2026

The ICTC Digital Youth Ambassadors Program 2026 is a 12-month engagement programme designed to connect passionate young individuals with ICTC’s national digital inclusion and workforce initiatives. As a Digital Youth Ambassador, participants will play an essential role in providing insights that reflect the realities, needs, and aspirations of young people entering Canada’s evolving digital job market.

ICTC—a national non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening Canada’s digital economy—created this initiative to ensure that youth voices directly inform its research, programs, and national policy recommendations.

    Programme Objectives

    The programme aims to:

    • Encourage youth participation in digital economy development.
    • Gather diverse perspectives to help ICTC create more inclusive programmes.
    • Provide real-world learning and leadership opportunities for Canadian youth.
    • Support Canada’s growing digital sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, clean technology, creative technology, and advanced manufacturing.

Through collaborative engagement, the programme helps ensure that ICTC’s initiatives align with the evolving needs of the younger generation and the rapidly changing digital workforce landscape.

    Who Can Apply

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Be between 18 and 29 years old and currently living in Canada.
    • Have completed at least three years of post-secondary education or have graduated within the last five years from a recognised Canadian institution.
    • Be willing and able to commit to a 12-month participation period.
    • Note: Individuals currently employed (part-time or full-time) by the federal government are not eligible to apply.

While applicants from all academic disciplines are welcome, preference may be given to individuals with a strong interest or experience in digitally focused fields such as:

    • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
    • Cybersecurity
    • Clean Technology
    • Creative Technology
    • Advanced Manufacturing
    • Youth Employment and Inclusion

    Programme Structure

The ICTC Digital Youth Ambassadors Program 2026 is structured to ensure that participants gain valuable exposure, practical knowledge, and leadership experience. Ambassadors will:

    • Attend six virtual sessions with ICTC staff and other participants throughout the year.
    • Share feedback and insights on ICTC’s research, programme design, and outreach strategies.
    • Engage in meaningful dialogue to ensure ICTC resources remain relevant and beneficial to young Canadians.

This structured format allows ambassadors to make measurable contributions to national digital initiatives while developing their own leadership and communication skills.

    Benefits of Participation

Selected Digital Youth Ambassadors will enjoy several exclusive benefits, including:

    • A fully funded trip to Ottawa to attend the first in-person meeting, where they will network with employers, government stakeholders, and industry leaders.
    • A monetary honorarium as recognition for their time, input, and participation.
    • Invitations to ICTC’s national events and conferences on emerging technologies and digital workforce trends.
    • Public recognition as a Digital Youth Ambassador contributing to the advancement of Canada’s digital economy.

    Why You Should Apply

This is a remarkable opportunity for young Canadians to contribute their voices to national conversations about technology, employment, and innovation. Participants not only enhance their professional experience but also influence how Canada’s digital ecosystem supports youth development and inclusivity.

    Application Details

Applications for the ICTC Digital Youth Ambassadors Program 2026 are currently open. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply early, as spaces are limited.

    Duration: 12 months
