This funding opportunity supports small-scale, high-impact projects that address some of the most urgent challenges facing marginalised communities.

    The Theirworld Small Grants Programme 2026 – Up to £10,000 Funding is designed to help registered charities and not-for-profit organisations deliver practical, community-level interventions aligned with Theirworld’s education priorities.


    About the Theirworld Small Grants Programme

    The Theirworld Small Grants Programme provides flexible funding to organisations implementing projects that improve access to education, learning environments, and future-ready skills for children and young people.

    Funding is typically awarded as a single grant, although in exceptional cases, multi-year funding may be considered.


    Grant Amount

    • Grant size: £1,000 to £10,000 per project
    • Funding type: Primarily one-off grants
    • Project focus: Community-level, impact-driven initiatives

    Programme Focus Areas

    All proposed projects must align with at least one of the following thematic priorities:

    1. Best Start in Life

    Projects that support early childhood development, caregiver engagement, and access to quality early learning opportunities.

    2. Safe Place to Learn

    Initiatives that improve school safety, inclusion, and the overall learning environment for children and young people.

    3. Skills for the Future

    Programmes that build digital, vocational, leadership, and life skills to prepare young people for future opportunities.

    Preference is given to projects that also address one or more of the following cross-cutting issues:

    • Gender equality
    • Inclusion of marginalised groups
    • Peace and security
    • Health and nutrition

    Who Can Apply

    To be eligible for the Theirworld Small Grants Programme 2026, applicants must:

    • Be a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
    • Work directly with children, young people, or caregivers
    • Serve marginalised or disadvantaged communities
    • Present a clear project plan with measurable outcomes
    • Have an established safeguarding policy
    • Provide recent organisational annual accounts
