    Deadline: February 15, 2026

Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering Seed Grants for Media Outlets to Cover Natural Resource Management and Green Growth in Nepal. This opportunity aims to strengthen environmental journalism and support innovative storytelling that highlights the intersection between natural resource management and green growth.

These seed grants are designed to empower media organizations to develop, test, and launch new media programming that encourages public engagement, policy awareness, and sustainable development discourse in Nepal.

    About the Seed Grants

The Seed Grants for Media Outlets to Cover Natural Resource Management and Green Growth provide targeted financial and technical support to Nepal-based media outlets. Through these grants, EJN seeks to help news organizations create impactful, solutions-oriented journalism that informs the public and influences decision-makers.

Each selected outlet will receive funding to pilot fresh and compelling media initiatives that shed light on how communities, industries, and governments can balance growth with sustainable natural resource use.

    Grant Details

    • Grant Amount: €4,500 per media outlet
    • Number of Grants: Two (2)
    • Location: Nepal
    • Deadline: February 15, 2026

The grant supports the creation of at least two media outputs (stories, episodes, or programs) that address key issues surrounding green growth and natural resource management. Grantees will also receive mentorship and technical support from senior journalists and subject-matter experts throughout the grant period.

    Focus Areas

The program encourages innovative and solutions-driven journalism that explores:

    • The sustainable use and conservation of natural resources
    • Green growth initiatives at local, regional, or national levels

    Eligibility Criteria

This call is open to media outlets based in Nepal, including:

    • Print media (newspapers, magazines)
    • Online news platforms
    • Television and radio broadcasters
    • Multimedia and social media-based outlets

Applicants must propose a new, original media programming idea focused on natural resource management or green growth. Each proposal should include a plan to produce at least two stories or episodes as a proof of concept.

Applications may be submitted in English or Nepali.

    Ethical Guidelines

Applicants are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards in journalism. This includes:

    • Transparent use of generative AI tools (if applicable)
