The Broadbent Institute Emerging Leaders Program 2026 is now open for applications. This prestigious initiative is designed to empower early to mid-career organizers and community leaders dedicated to advancing justice, equity, and inclusive social change across Canada.


    About the Broadbent Institute Emerging Leaders Program 2026

    The Broadbent Institute Emerging Leaders Program 2026 is a 10-month leadership development program that equips participants with the tools, training, and mentorship necessary to take on director-level responsibilities and drive progressive change in their communities.

    Through a blend of interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and real-world leadership experiences, participants gain deep insights into effective leadership practices, social advocacy, and strategic community engagement.


    What the Program Offers

    This fully funded program provides an immersive learning experience that combines theory, mentorship, and practice. Participants will benefit from:

    • Comprehensive Leadership Training: Develop practical leadership and organizational management skills tailored to progressive community work.
    • Personalized Mentorship: Receive ongoing support and guidance from seasoned facilitators and experienced community leaders.
    • Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded peers, mentors, and thought leaders within Canada’s progressive movement.
    • Monthly Virtual Workshops and Panels: Engage in interactive online sessions, Q&A events, and leadership forums.
    • In-Person Events: Attend exclusive gatherings during the 2026 Progress Summit (March) and 2026 Progress Gala (November), where participants receive in-depth leadership training and networking exposure.

    The program is valued at approximately CA $5,400, covering all costs related to participation, travel, accommodation, meals, facilitation, and mentorship. Participants are not required to pay any fees. However, organizational sponsorships are encouraged to support the sustainability of this transformative program.

    The program is ideal for community-minded individuals across Canada who are in the early to mid stages of their careers and demonstrate leadership potential in advancing social justice and equity.
