CSR-Hub Civic Space Protection and Regulatory Compliance 2026

    Deadline: January 15, 2026

The CSR-Hub Civic Space Protection and Regulatory Compliance 2026 programme is now open for applications. This opportunity invites eligible civil society organisations (CSOs) across selected West African countries to participate in a 12-month capacity-strengthening initiative designed to enhance organisational resilience, legal compliance, leadership, and sustainability.

This programme forms part of a broader effort to strengthen civic space, improve regulatory compliance, and support civil society organisations operating in increasingly complex and restrictive environments.

    About the CSR-Hub Programme

The Civic Space Resource Hub (CSR-Hub) is a structured, long-term support programme aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of civil society organisations. The 2026 cohort represents the fourth intake of the programme and focuses on enabling organisations to operate effectively, legally, and safely while advancing social justice, human rights, and civic engagement.

The programme is delivered under the Global Weaving Resilience Initiative and combines training, mentoring, advisory support, and peer learning over a 12-month period.

    Programme Duration and Structure

    • Programme length: 12 months
    • Cohort: Fourth cohort (2026 intake)
    • Format: Blended learning approach including in-person and ongoing support

Participants will engage in structured learning activities, organisational diagnostics, and tailored mentoring aligned with their specific operational and compliance needs.

    Key Focus Areas

The CSR-Hub Civic Space Protection and Regulatory Compliance 2026 programme is built around four strategic pillars:

    1. Civic Space Protection and Regulatory Compliance

Support to help organisations navigate regulatory frameworks, strengthen legal standing, and respond effectively to shrinking civic space.

    2. Leadership and Organisational Governance

Capacity building to improve leadership effectiveness, decision-making structures, accountability, and internal governance systems.

    3. Resource Mobilisation and Financial Resilience

Strengthening financial systems, sustainability planning, and resource diversification to ensure long-term organisational viability.

    4. Digital Security and Protection

Guidance on safeguarding digital assets, data protection, and managing digital risks in advocacy and organisational operations.

    Who Can Apply

The programme is open to legally registered civil society organisations that meet the following criteria:

    • Operating in Nigeria, Ghana, or Senegal
    • Includes non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations, and faith-based organisations
    • Priority consideration for women-led and youth-led organisations
    • At least two years of active operations
    • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, human rights, advocacy, or the protection of civic space
    • A minimum of five full-time staff members or a consistent and structured volunteer workforce
    • Willingness to actively participate in all programme activities
    • Ability to share relevant organisational and compliance documents for assessment and support purposes

    Programme Benefits

Selected organisations will receive comprehensive institutional support, including:

    • A three-day intensive professional training workshop
    • One-on-one coaching and mentoring tailored to organisational needs
    • Ongoing advisory and practical technical support
    • Opportunities for peer learning and collaboration with other CSOs
    • Access to regional learning platforms and advocacy spaces
    • Participation in critical conversations on civic space protection and regulatory challenges

These benefits are designed to strengthen organisational systems, improve compliance, and enhance overall impact.

    Application Deadline

    • Deadline: 15 January 2026
    • Time: 23:59 GMT

Late submissions will not be considered.
