    Generation Regen Challenge 2026

    The Generation Regen Challenge 2026 is an exciting opportunity designed to accelerate regenerative and sustainable agriculture across Canada and the United States. Launched at the One Young World Summit 2025, the challenge supports social enterprises and non-profit organizations that are pioneering innovative approaches to restore ecosystems, strengthen food systems, and build a regenerative future for people and the planet.

    This initiative seeks to fund bold, scalable, and impactful projects that help transform agricultural systems while promoting ecological balance and long-term sustainability.


    Purpose of the Generation Regen Challenge 2026

    The goal of the Generation Regen Challenge 2026 is to empower changemakers and organizations working at the forefront of regenerative agriculture. Through this challenge, participants are encouraged to present solutions that:

    • Restore and regenerate ecosystems
    • Improve soil and water health
    • Sequester carbon to combat climate change
    • Strengthen local and sustainable food systems
    • Support biodiversity and animal welfare
    • Incorporate Indigenous and cultural practices into agricultural systems

    By recognizing and supporting these projects, the program aims to create systemic change that ensures a healthier planet and a resilient agricultural future.


    Prizes and Benefits

    Successful applicants of the Generation Regen Challenge 2026 will receive financial grants, exposure, and access to a global platform for growth and collaboration. The awards include:

    • Two winners will receive $60,000 USD each
    • Four finalists will receive $20,000 USD each
    • All winners and finalists will receive a fully funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, including flights, accommodation, and full participation access
    • Lifetime membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community, connecting with a global network of influential leaders driving sustainable change

    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply for the Generation Regen Challenge 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Be between 18 and 35 years old
    • Lead a registered non-profit organization, charity, or social enterprise based in Canada or the United States
    • The organization must have been registered for at least one year prior to the application deadline
    • The project must focus on regenerative or sustainable agriculture, with operations or impact in Canada and/or the U.S.

    Key Focus Areas

    Projects submitted under this challenge should reflect the principles of regenerative systems thinking. Areas of focus include:

    • Strengthening and supporting local farms and food producers
    • Enhancing soil health and fertility
    • Promoting efficient and sustainable water management systems
    • Encouraging biodiversity conservation
    • Advancing food security and community nutrition
    • Integrating Indigenous agricultural wisdom and sustainable cultural practices

    Timeline

    • Application Deadline: February 23, 2026

    Applicants are encouraged to submit well-developed proposals before the closing date to ensure proper consideration.
