    About the GCSP Prize for Transformative Futures in Peace and Security 2026

    The GCSP Prize for Transformative Futures in Peace and Security 2026 honours forward-thinking concepts that challenge conventional approaches to global peace and security. The prize welcomes ideas, projects, and proposals that demonstrate creativity, originality, and long-term potential to contribute positively to global stability.

    Eligible thematic areas include:

    • Transformative technologies
    • Autonomous weapons
    • Cybersecurity
    • Climate change
    • Human rights
    • Pandemics and biothreats
    • Disarmament
    • Education
    • And other emerging security issues

    Submissions can originate from any country, provided the project shows relevance that extends beyond national borders.

    1st Place Winner

    • A fully funded two-month incubation programme at GCSP’s Creative Spark in Geneva
    • Programme valued at CHF 15,000
    • Trophy and certificate of excellence

    2nd & 3rd Place Winners

    • Certificates of recognition

    Honourable Mentions

    • Certificates of honourable mention

    All winners, including honourable mentions, will be publicly announced during an event in May 2026.


    Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants may submit proposals as:

    • Individuals
    • Groups of individuals
    • Public or private organisations

    Not eligible:

    • GCSP staff, fellows, or participants—or their immediate family members—unless at least one year has passed since the end of their affiliation with GCSP.

    Submission Requirements

    Applicants must submit the following through the official online application form:

    • Abstract of the project concept (max 250 words)
    • Detailed concept description (max 750 words)
    • Technical process explanation (if applicable)
    • Budget estimate
    • Explanation of the project’s novel contribution to peace and security
    • Short-term and long-term impact description
    • Optional: Up to five image files

    Strong submissions typically demonstrate:

    • Creativity and forward-thinking
    • Clear transformative impact
    • Feasibility and sustainability
    • Relevance beyond a single country
    • Capacity for real-world implementation

    • Application Deadline: 20 March 2026 (23:59 UTC+1)
