British Council Climate Skills Global Collaboration Grants 2026

    Deadline: November 17, 2025

Are you passionate about empowering young people with the skills and opportunities to lead the green transition? The British Council Climate Skills Global Collaboration Grants 2026 are now open to support institutions building meaningful international partnerships that create structured, industry-aligned green work experiences and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth.

These grants aim to strengthen global collaboration between the UK and partner countries to address skills gaps and promote sustainable pathways for the next generation of green leaders.

About the British Council Climate Skills Global Collaboration Grants 2026

The British Council Climate Skills Global Collaboration Grants 2026 provide funding for collaborative projects that connect UK higher education institutions (HEIs), technical and vocational education and training (TVET) providers, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) with institutions in eligible partner countries.

Each project must deliver tangible, co-designed initiatives that offer green work experience or entrepreneurship training for young people aged 18–30.

These grants are ideal for organisations looking to:

    • Develop new collaborations or strengthen existing links with international partners.
    • Create practical green skills programmes aligned with real-world industry needs.
    • Facilitate mutual knowledge exchange, capacity building, and sustainable partnerships between the UK and partner countries.

    Objectives of the Programme

The Climate Skills Global Collaboration Grants focus on three key objectives:

    1. Building strategic partnerships between UK institutions and organisations in partner countries to address green work pathways and skills gaps.
    2. Co-designing and delivering green work experiences or training for young people in both the UK and partner countries.
    3. Encouraging mutual knowledge exchange and capacity building, fostering long-term collaboration between partners.

    Grant Amount

Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from £50,000 to £85,000 per funded partnership.

This funding is designed to support activities that foster innovation in green skills, develop sustainable training models, and strengthen institutional collaboration.

    Eligible Countries

The partner countries eligible for this funding round are:

    • Brazil
    • India
    • Indonesia
    • Mexico
    • Viet Nam

Note: Nigeria and other African countries are not listed as partner countries for this particular call. However, organisations in non-eligible countries may still participate as additional consortium members, provided the lead institutions are from the UK and one of the five eligible countries above.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for funding, applicants must:

    • Submit a joint proposal involving one lead UK institution and one lead institution from a partner country.
    • Include additional organisations (such as training providers or NGOs) as part of the consortium, if relevant.
    • Design a project that provides young people aged 18–30 with green work experience or entrepreneurship training.
    • Demonstrate how the partnership will build institutional capacity and create sustainable collaboration beyond the funding period.

    Application Deadline

The deadline for submitting applications is 17 November 2025.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the full application guidance, eligibility checklist, and proposal templates well in advance of the deadline to ensure compliance with all requirements.
