About the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity Programme 2026–2027
Hosted by LSE’s International Inequalities Institute, the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity Programme 2026–2027 offers a unique learning experience for change-makers who want to deepen their understanding of inequality and strengthen their capacity to create real-world impact.
The programme brings together practitioners, activists, policy-makers, movement-builders, and researchers from across the globe to explore the root causes of inequality and co-create solutions for social and economic justice.
Programme Structure
The fellowship runs under two main tracks:
1. Residential Track (London-based)
- Fellows spend one year in London pursuing the MSc in Inequalities and Social Science at LSE.
- Participants also engage in immersive fellowship modules that promote collaboration, critical reflection, and leadership development.
- Ideal for those who wish to combine advanced academic training with hands-on experience and global networking.
2. Non-Residential Track (Global)
- Fellows remain in their home countries while working on a practice-based project addressing inequality in their communities or regions.
- Participants undertake both online and in-person learning modules and earn a Postgraduate Certificate in Social and Economic Equity.
- Best suited for professionals who cannot relocate but are leading impactful initiatives in their local contexts.

The Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity Programme supports diverse fields addressing systemic inequalities, including:

Who Should Apply?
The fellowship targets mid-career professionals with at least seven (7) years of experience working to advance equity and justice. Eligible applicants include:
- Social innovators, activists, and advocates
- Policy-makers and researchers
- Non-profit or NGO leaders
- Community organisers and grassroots leaders
- Public sector professionals and movement-builders
Eligibility Requirements
Residential Track
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
- A bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent).
- Applicants must not be enrolled in any current degree programme.
- Recent MSc or PhD graduates are generally not eligible.
- Must meet LSE’s English language requirements.
Non-Residential Track
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
- A bachelor’s degree (2:2 and above) — however, candidates without a degree but with equivalent experience are welcome to apply.
- Those who already hold postgraduate degrees may also apply.
- Must complete any ongoing degree before the fellowship begins (September 2026).
- Must meet LSE’s English language requirements.
