About the Loeb Fellowship
The Loeb Fellowship at Harvard Graduate School of Design supports mid-career professionals shaping the built and natural environment — from urban planners, designers, and architects to public artists, civic leaders, and social entrepreneurs. Fellows take a one-year break to renew their vision, strengthen their impact, and foster deeper social engagement.
What Fellows Do
Fellows audit classes across Harvard and MIT, engage with faculty and students, and participate in public programmes and Fellowship events. The year is designed for reflection, renewal, and community connection with peers equally passionate about revitalising communities.
Eligibility
- Open to mid-career practitioners with 5–10 years of professional experience.
- Applicants must demonstrate leadership ability, a strong drive to help others succeed, and potential for higher impact.
- Average Fellow age: ~42 years.
- Not intended for academic sabbaticals or artist residencies — this is a practitioner-centred programme focused on renewal within active careers.
Application Process
The application is online and open from autumn 2025 to January 5, 2026 for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applicants must submit:
