    AFRISE Challenge 2026 for African Youth Entrepreneurs

    The AFRISE Challenge 2026 for African Youth Entrepreneurs is now open for applications. This initiative is designed to identify, support, and accelerate young African innovators and startup founders who are building scalable solutions to some of the continent’s most pressing challenges.

    The AFRISE Challenge 2026 for African Youth Entrepreneurs provides participants with access to mentorship, venture development training, international exposure, and connections to investors. Through an intensive accelerator programme, the challenge aims to empower the next generation of African entrepreneurs to build impactful ventures that contribute to economic growth and job creation across the continent.

    The programme is organised through a partnership between Concordia University and Hindsight Ventures.

    About the AFRISE Challenge 2026 for African Youth Entrepreneurs

    The AFRISE Challenge is a startup accelerator programme that supports young African entrepreneurs and student founders with innovative business ideas and early-stage startups.

    The programme focuses on helping founders refine their business models, improve product-market fit, and prepare their ventures for investment opportunities.

    Selected entrepreneurs will gain access to:

    • Expert mentorship from experienced founders and investors
    • Venture development training and workshops
    • Opportunities to pitch to investors
    • Technology credits and startup tools
    • A global network of entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners

    The initiative aims to strengthen Africa’s startup ecosystem while empowering youth-led businesses that address real-world challenges.

    The AFRISE Challenge supports startups working in a wide range of industries, including:

    • Financial Services (Fintech)
    • Healthcare
    • Agriculture
    • Energy and Utilities
    • Education
    • Environment and Climate
    • Telecommunications
    • Arts and Creative Industries

    Entrepreneurs developing solutions in these sectors are strongly encouraged to apply.


    Programme Benefits

    Participants selected for the AFRISE Challenge 2026 will receive several benefits designed to accelerate the growth of their startups.

    1. Startup Accelerator Programme

    A total of 30 high-potential founders will be selected to participate in the accelerator programme.

    Participants will receive:

    • Mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts
    • Business and leadership training
    • Strategic guidance to help scale their ventures

    2. International Demo Day

    The top 15 startups from the accelerator will have the opportunity to pitch their ventures to a global audience of:

    • Early-stage investors
    • Venture capitalists
    • Entrepreneurship support organisations

    This demo day offers founders a chance to attract grant funding or equity investment to support the growth of their startups.


    3. Technology Credits Worth Over $600,000

    Participants will receive access to more than $600,000 worth of technology credits and startup tools from leading global companies.

    These credits may include services and tools from organisations such as:

    • Amazon Web Services
    • Microsoft
    • IBM
    • Zoho
    • Canva
    • DigitalOcean
    • Freshworks

    These tools help founders build, scale, and manage their startups more efficiently.


    4. Venture Development Bootcamp

    Selected participants will also join a four-week virtual venture development bootcamp.

    The bootcamp focuses on:

    • Business model refinement
    • Product-market fit development
    • Investor readiness
    • Startup growth strategies

    This intensive training prepares founders to effectively pitch their ventures and scale their businesses.


    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply for the AFRISE Challenge 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old
    • Applicants must come from one of the eligible African countries
    • Applications may be submitted by individual founders or teams
    • Applicants must have a scalable startup idea or early-stage venture addressing a real challenge

    Entrepreneurs with innovative and impactful solutions are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Entrepreneurs from the following countries are eligible to participate:

    • Nigeria
    • Uganda
    • Morocco
    • Kenya
    • Rwanda
    • Ghana
    • Côte d’Ivoire
    • Senegal

    Programme Objective

    The AFRISE Challenge aims to identify and support high-potential youth entrepreneurs across Africa who are building innovative businesses.

    By providing mentorship, training, investor exposure, and technology resources, the programme seeks to:

    • Strengthen Africa’s startup ecosystem
    • Promote youth entrepreneurship
    • Support scalable solutions to development challenges
    • Create jobs and economic opportunities across the continent
