    UNICEF Venture Fund 2026

    Deadline: March 10, 2026

The UNICEF Venture Fund 2026 is now accepting applications from early-stage startups developing blockchain-based solutions with the potential to drive social impact, especially for children and underserved communities. This initiative seeks to identify and support innovative ventures leveraging blockchain technology to create scalable and open-source digital solutions that promote transparency, accountability, and inclusion.

About the UNICEF Venture Fund 2026

The UNICEF Venture Fund 2026 aims to provide early-stage financing and support to startups that are using frontier technologies, particularly blockchain, to solve pressing challenges that affect children and youth. The Fund invests in solutions that improve the delivery of social services, enhance community engagement, and contribute to digital public goods.

Selected startups will receive up to US$100,000 in equity-free funding, mentorship, and technical support to further develop their blockchain products. The Venture Fund supports solutions that advance equitable access to technology and ensure the benefits of innovation reach the most marginalised populations.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the UNICEF Venture Fund 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Be an early-stage startup with an existing product or prototype that demonstrates functionality and real-world use.
    • Be registered in a UNICEF programme country.
    • Commit to open-source licensing (or be willing to open source your intellectual property).
    • Demonstrate a clear potential to positively impact communities, especially children and young people.
    • Have a team with strong technical capacity to scale the product.

Startups led by women founders or young innovators are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Funding and Support

Successful applicants to the UNICEF Venture Fund 2026 will receive:

    • Up to US$100,000 in equity-free funding, which may be provided in cryptocurrency (e.g., BTC, ETH, or USDC).
    • Access to mentorship, technical guidance, and product development support through UNICEF’s global innovation network.
    • A 12–18 month partnership period during which the startup will test, measure, and improve its product’s impact and sustainability.

This funding is entirely equity-free, meaning startups retain full ownership and control of their companies.

    Focus Areas for Blockchain Solutions

Startups applying for the UNICEF Venture Fund 2026 should align their innovations with one or more of the following thematic areas:

    1. Improving accountability and transparency in service delivery and payments.
    2. Developing innovative financing and fundraising models that empower local communities and promote decentralised governance.
    3. Creating incentive systems and digital public goods that support sustainability, inclusion, and social innovation.

Solutions that demonstrate practical use cases, measurable impact, and scalability across different communities will be prioritised.

    Why Apply?

The UNICEF Venture Fund 2026 offers a rare opportunity for blockchain-focused startups to receive non-dilutive capital and join a global network of innovators. Beyond financial support, the Fund provides expert guidance, access to technical resources, and visibility within the international development and tech ecosystem.

This is an exceptional platform for startups aiming to validate and scale solutions that use blockchain technology for social good.

    Application Deadline

The deadline for submission is 10 March 2026. Early applications are encouraged to ensure adequate time for review and feedback.
