    About the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2026

    The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded leadership opportunity created to support emerging young leaders tackling pressing issues impacting women and girls worldwide.

    The initiative is launched in partnership with the Hauwa Ojeifo Global Impact Fund for Women & Girls and One Young World. It seeks to identify, uplift, and equip outstanding changemakers who are championing causes in mental health, domestic violence prevention, reproductive health, and other key areas related to gender equality and well-being.

    Successful applicants will join a global network of young leaders at the One Young World Summit 2026, taking place from 3–6 November 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa.


    Benefits of the Scholarship

    Recipients of the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2026 will receive comprehensive funding and exclusive opportunities, including:

    • Full sponsorship to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa.
    • Return economy flights from the scholar’s home country to the summit destination.
    • Hotel accommodation, meals, and in-country transport throughout the summit period.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Be aged 18–30 years at the time of the summit (applicants above 30 may be considered if they can demonstrate exceptional impact).
    • Be actively working on initiatives related to one or more of the following focus areas:
      • Mental health and neurodivergence
      • Domestic and sexual violence
      • Disability rights and advocacy for older persons
      • Gynaecological and reproductive health
      • Maternal and child health
      • Girl-child rights, including the fight against female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage
      • Non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
    • Be a resident of and actively creating impact within Africa, Asia, or the Middle East.
    • Be ready to engage and collaborate with other global scholars during and after the summit.
