    The AFS Global STEM Accelerators 2026 is an exciting, fully funded opportunity designed to empower young women aged 15–17.5 years with the knowledge and skills to become future leaders in STEM, sustainability, and social impact. This 12-week virtual exchange programme, organised by AFS and developed with support from the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Social Impact Strategy, connects girls from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds to collaborate on global challenges and create meaningful change.


    About the AFS Global STEM Accelerators 2026

    The AFS Global STEM Accelerators 2026 programme offers participants a transformative learning experience that combines STEM education with global competence and social impact development. Over the course of 12 weeks, participants will engage in interactive online learning sessions, team projects, and cultural exchange activities — all aimed at developing innovative solutions to real-world sustainability challenges.

    This initiative focuses on equipping participants with the technical and leadership skills needed to make a difference in their communities and beyond. Scholars will explore how science and technology can be applied to advance sustainability, promote equality, and drive positive change across the globe.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the AFS Global STEM Accelerators 2026:

    • Identify as female and be aged 15–17.5 years at the start of the programme (born between 1 September 2008 and 31 May 2011).
    • Have a strong interest in STEM, sustainability, and global issues.
    • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English.
    • Have access to a reliable internet connection and a device with a webcam and microphone.
    • Be able to commit fully to the 12-week virtual learning schedule.
    • Applicants from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
