TBLF Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship 2026

    Deadline: February 28, 2026

The TBLF Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship 2026 is a transformative 6-month leadership development programme designed to nurture and prepare young Nigerians for ethical and effective political leadership. Organised by The Bridge Leadership Foundation (TBLF), this non-partisan initiative aims to build a new generation of leaders equipped to drive positive change in Nigeria’s political landscape.

    About the Fellowship

The Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship (EPLF) is an initiative of The Bridge Leadership Foundation that provides aspiring young politicians with intensive training, mentorship, and exposure to governance processes. Through this fully immersive programme, fellows gain the necessary skills, experience, and networks to engage meaningfully in Nigeria’s political and governance systems.

    Fellowship Structure

The Fellowship runs for six months and combines training, mentorship, a bootcamp, policy development, and practical civic engagement. Fellows learn from some of Nigeria’s most experienced political leaders and technocrats while developing leadership and governance capacities tailored to the nation’s context.

    Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

    • Must be a Nigerian citizen with a clear interest or involvement in mainstream politics.
    • Must demonstrate leadership, civic responsibility, service, and integrity.
    • Must be between 25 and 35 years old. However, applicants aged 36 to 45 may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional leadership potential.
    • Must meet the statutory requirements to run for public office in Nigeria.
    • Must have no criminal record or ongoing investigation with any security agency.

    Fellowship Tracks

The TBLF Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship 2026 offers three funding tracks to accommodate different applicants:

    1. Scholarship Track (Fully Funded)

This track provides full or partial tuition support based on merit. Selected fellows may receive funding that covers travel, accommodation, and feeding expenses during the bootcamp.

    2. Paid Track (Partially Funded)

In this track, 50% of the tuition fee is covered by TBLF. Accommodation and feeding for the bootcamp are also provided, while participants cover their travel expenses.

    3. Self-Sponsored Track (Fully Paid)

This option allows participants to personally finance their tuition, travel, accommodation, and feeding during the bootcamp.

    Programme Benefits

Fellows of the TBLF Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship 2026 will gain access to:

    • Comprehensive leadership training by renowned political and governance experts.
    • One-on-one mentorship with established Nigerian leaders and policymakers.
    • The opportunity to design and implement a Civic Engagement Project within their communities.
    • Development and presentation of a Capstone Policy Brief.
    • Access to an exclusive alumni network that provides ongoing support, resources, and visibility.

This combination of theoretical and hands-on learning ensures that fellows leave the programme with practical skills and a strong professional network to help them lead with integrity and impact.

    Application Requirements

To apply for the fellowship, applicants are required to submit the following:

    • A completed online application form.
    • An up-to-date CV (PDF format, maximum of three pages).
    • If longlisted, candidates must also submit a 3–5-minute video explaining their motivation for applying, leadership experience, and vision for political engagement.

    Application Deadline
